Fall Inspired

I have a fall card today inspired by the photo inspiration challenge at
Just Us Girls.

The image I used is another free printable from
Beccy's Place
which I colored with pencil colors.
The papers are from K&Company and DCWV.
I found the cute leaf buttons at WalMart.

I used the current sketch from
Mojo Monday.

Cardinal and Holly

I think I need to get back to making at least one
Christmas card per week if I'm going to meet my goal for this year.
So using this week's sketch at
I came up with this.

The cardinal image is a free printable from
Beccy's Place
which I colored with markers.
The circles and flowers were die cut.
The large ivory panel was dry embossed
and a couple of gems and a sentiment sticker were added.

Christmas Time with Jeremiah

I bought some cute Soft Spoken Christmas chip board stickers on clearance
at JoAnn's about a month ago with the mind set that they would work great for
one of my designs for

So using the Jeremiah stamp
here's what I came up with.

I love pairing up these handsome young men with Prima Dolls.

I stamped Jeremiah and the Prima Doll on white card stock, colored with
Spectrum Noir and pencil colors and fussy cut.
I used some white mulberry paper to simulate snow on the ground.

The background paper and doll's dress use
Christmas papers from Die Cuts With a View.
The border and snowflake stickers are Dazzles from
Hot Off the Press.
I finished with lots of sparkle by adding gems.

I used the sketch from
Freshly Made Sketches,
the color combo from

and the toppings option from
which is "sweet treats".

The image I used was a free digital download from
Beary Wishes
which I colored with Spectrum Noir markers.

Here's a closer look.

For the Bride

I need a card for a bridal shower and decided to use this week's sketch at
as a starting point in coming up with the design.

I found the free digital stamp image at
and decided to color it to match the colors of the
wedding invitation.
After fussy cutting the bride I foam taped her to
Spellbinders die cuts.
The hearts were die cut with an old Sizzix originals die
and the cream colored panel was embossed with
an embossing folder I purchased from Paper Wishes.
I finished up with some tiny pearls.
Overall I like the way it turned out and hope you do too!

HOC September Challenge

We have a photo/color inspiration challenge over at
for the month of September.

This is what I came up with as a member of
the Classic & Elegant team.

The apple basket image is a free printable from
which I colored with pencil colors, fussy cut
and foam taped to the squares which were die cut
with Sizzix framelits.
I also used a Fiskars border punch behind the DP panel
which is from My Mind's Eye
Miss Caroline Dolled Up paper pad,
a Spellbinders die for the leaves and
a Marvy daisy punch for the flower to which I added
a Prima Say it in Pearls center.

Choose your style, whether it be CAS, Classic/Elegant,
Fun/Cute, or Vintage/Shabby,
come up with your own creation,
and link up with us over at
House of Cards!
You have the whole month to play along
and we'd love to see what you come up with!

Watercolor Peonies

This week there's a trend challenge over at
and it's watercoloring!

Okay, so I've done a couple of watercoloring
challenges before but only playing with a
watercolor background and water color resist.
This time I thought I would give watercolor pencils a try.
I could use some more practice but I'm pretty pleased overall.

Here's a closer view.

The image I used is a free printable from
Beccy's Place (I'm linking up to her challenge).
I printed it on watercolor paper and because I was afraid the
ink would bleed went over the outlines with a Versamark pen
and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
After coloring, I fussy cut the image and then foam taped to the oval die cut.

Now I think I'll have to see what else I can find around here
 that could use some watercoloring!

The Worldly Traveler

This weeks card design for
features Charlie as a worldly traveler!

I really had a lot of fun putting this one together.
Charlie was stamped on white card stock,
colored with markers and fussy cut.
The hot air balloon I used is 3-D Papier Tole from
Hot Off the Press's Homeward Bound set.
I found that Hot Off the Press also had a free download
on their website to match the set and this is what I used for the collage
on the bottom of the card.
The background paper is from
DCWV's Industrial Chic Stack.

Be sure and visit the
and check out Charlie and the other stamps in the
Boys in the Woods Series.

Fall Leaves

It certainly has felt like fall is in the air around here the last few days.
So when I saw the challenge word at
is "leaves" this week I thought  fall.
And with using one of the 3 sketches to choose from at
I came up with this.

I used a free digital image from Beary Wishes,
colored with pencil colors,
die cut the ovals with Sizzix framelits
and the leaves I added are Dazzles stickers from
Hot Off the Press.
The ribbon is from my stash.
